Five Hole for Food is growing and we’re growing quickly.

Based in Vancouver with a team that spans the country, we’re growing quickly as we work to fight hunger in Canada through hockey. We are bringing together communities and creating a giving experience for people across the country which fosters a long-term awareness impacting the food banks we support long after we have left the city. Our passionate team and start-up culture, empowers you to drive change and create and own the outcome of your contributions – contributions that can impact a nation.

Media Relations Specialist

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Work with Media Relations Manager to implement and develop strategy for Five Hole for Food’s national campaign
  • Collaborate with local event organizers and food banks in cities across Canada to capitalize on media contacts and opportunities
  • Pitch media outlets nationally as outlined in the media relations strategy
  • Identify unique media opportunities and maximize exposure to Five Hole for Food and partners
  • Develop long-term relationships with media in cities across Canada
  • Update and maintain media contact list
  • Media monitoring
  • Create media kits
  • Some travel may be required

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Social media addict (well, maybe not an addict, but you should be an active Twitter user)
  • Experience in media relations at a national level and through all mediums is an asset
  • Someone who wants to be part of a dynamic group in a rapidly growing organization
  • Experience developing creative campaigns is an asset
  • Someone who thrives in a team environment and enjoys collaborating with others
  • Well-organized, self-motivated communications professional
  • Someone who is bilingual (French, Cantonese or Mandarin) is a bonus
  • Someone who knows the difference between “you’re” and “your”
  • Can work well to dynamic deadlines
  • Someone who knows all the words to the Backstreet Boys song, I Want It That Way

Grants Specialist

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Work with Sponsorship team to develop grant strategy
  • Apply for local grants across Canada at all levels
  • Develop partnerships with local foundations
  • Grant research

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience with grant application process
  • Excellent written skill
  • Knowledge of the grant process and understanding of requirements

Community Relations Specialist

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Works under Community Relations Manager 
  • Coordinates specific area of community relations to manage partnerships and build relationships in each city
  • Coordinate with social team to maximize promotions with partners
  • Management of social media obligations to sponsors and partners
  • Work with graphic design team to ensure partners are properly employing the FHFF brand
  • Work with staff writers to create relevant stories and integrate community with events

  • Develop brand with graphics team and manage on site
  • Work with graphic design team to update and maintain online brand and refresh as necessary
  • Work with staff writers to push content in a timely manner

National Team Coordinator

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Work with City Champions to coordinate day of logistics
  • Supporting City Champions with internal resources from various departments
  • Developing game-day experience and deliverables
  • Managing unique City Champion teams and building teams across Canada
  • Monthly Champion check-ins
  • Working to implement strategy to better integrate FHFF satellite representatives

  • Act in a key role of development for the building of the Five Hole for Food mobile app.
